Friday, 18 October 2024 UP FAMNIT hosted the finals of the UPM competition
On Saturday, October 19, 2024, the final round of the University Programming Marathon 2024 (UPM) took place at the UP FAMNIT. Students from the University of Ljubljana, Maribor, and Primorska competed for the title of Slovenian champion, the champion of their respective universities, and a spot in the CERC 2024 competition, which will take place this year in Wrocław, Poland.
Out of 39 teams and 106 competitors, 18 of the best teams with 49 competitors made it to the finals. The third round took place separately at each of the three participating universities, while the final was held at UP FAMNIT. Throughout the competition, students used the following programming languages to solve tasks: C, C++, Python, and Java.
After 5 hours of solving 10 competition tasks, the winners of the University Programming Marathon 2024 and the champions of the individual universities were announced.
The best three teams:
1. Place: tree toed sloths (Job Petrovčič, Luka Horjak in Jakob Schrader)
2. Place: jesse we need to code (Bor Brudar, Jakob Žorž in Nejc Mozetič)
3. Place: Shaun the Heap (Matevž Miščič, Jon Mikoš in Domen Hočevar)

- University of Maribor: Erdos Fourier Neumann (Mitko Nikov, Alen Granda in Erik Červek Roškarič)
- University of Primorska: al capwned (Luka Svenšek)
