Tuesday, 18 November 2025 University of Primorska Again on the Shanghai Ranking for Mathematics

The University of Primorska (UP) has once again been included in the Shanghai Ranking's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2025 in the field of Mathematics, placing in the 401–500 group of the world’s best universities. This achievement confirms the quality of research work, international collaboration, and the university’s global recognition.

The Shanghai Ranking is one of the most recognized and influential international university rankings. The Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) evaluates universities across 57 academic subjects based on five categories, which include data on recipients of international awards, publications in top journals, citation impact, and international research collaboration.

This year, approximately 2,000 universities from 92 countries worldwide were ranked in GRAS. In the field of Mathematics, about 500 universities are on the list. The highest-ranked institutions come from the United States, China, and Europe, while the University of Primorska’s placement in the 401–500 group marks an important step forward for Slovenian science.
