Tuesday, 30 July 2024 The hard work of a researcher from the Department of Biodiversity at UP FAMNIT has been recognized by the company Wildlife Acoustics, Inc.

Martin Senič from the Department of Biodiversity at UP FAMNIT embarked on a research visit to Brazil in July, where he will spend three months studying bird species from the Cracidae family in the northern Pantanal region. This family is considered one of the most endangered bird families in South America.

For additional support, he applied for a grant from the American company Wildlife Acoustics, Inc., which produces leading tools for acoustic monitoring of bats, birds, amphibians, and other vocal wildlife.

He was successful in the application process, and the company donated six bioacoustic devices and software, enabling him to fully address the topic and improve his understanding of this fascinating group of birds.

We sincerely congratulate the recipient and wish him much success in his research journey!
