Monday, 13 September 2021 Congratulations to the first graduate on the undergraduate study programme Bioinformatics (English implementation)

On Thursday, 9 September 2021, Doroteja Vujinović concluded her undergraduate studies with the diploma thesis »Burrows-Wheeler Transfrom«, under the mentorship of Prof. Andrej Brodnik, PhD.

Doroteja Vujinović is the first graduate of the undergraduate study programme Bioinformatics in English, which has been implemented at UP FAMNIT from study year 2018/19. With the conclusion of her studies, she obtained the official title diplomirana bioinfomatičarka.

In her diploma thesis, she presented in detail how the BWT works and analyzed its computational complexity. Some of the most important applications of BWT in bioinformatics and computational biology were examined in her research as well.
