Wednesday, 27 November 2024 Awards for inclusive UP students

On Tuesday, November 26, 2024, awards were presented to all students who went the extra mile and sacrificed their free time to help their peers. This has not only created a great supportive environment, but also a broad group that works in different areas, but also connects in their activities and creates bonds for life. The support system is broad and includes different but interconnected groups of students - student tutors, UP Student Council members and ESN Primorska members - who all received awards today prepared by UP Student Tutor Coordinator Alja Polanec, UP Student Council President Lana Erjavec and ESN Primorska President Emilija Toth. They also thanked all those who work with them, especially the tutors and those who support them - the coordinators and other support services.

     

The commitment and support of the tutors helped many new students to settle into their studies by guiding and motivating them to integrate into the academic environment. The student councils were responsible for representing students' interests, organizing useful and interesting events and actively contributing to a better learning environment. The Erasmus student network Primorska is indispensable for international networking, creating memorable experiences for international students and fostering a sense of integration and belonging. "We have often joined forces, helped each other, exchanged ideas and encouraged each other, building not only successful projects but also lasting relationships based on trust and respect. Through all these challenges and successes, we have shown that together we can overcome boundaries and build a community that not only achieves its goals but also inspires others. The year behind us has been full of work, learning, fun and many memorable moments that have brought us together as a team and friends."

The participants were welcomed by the UP Vice-Rector for Education, Prof. Dr. Tina Štemberger, and thanked by the UP Vice-Rector for Internationalisation, Prof. Dr. Michaël Mrissa, and the UP Tutor Coordinator,  Prof. Dr. Sonja Čotar Konrad. The thanks were also echoed by the coordinator of the tutoring system at UP, Petra Majcen.

At the award ceremony, the following awards were presented to the student tutors, members of the UP Student Council and members of ESN Primorska

The UP FAMNIT students were awarded by their parent tutor, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vesna Jug, and the coordinator of tutors of UP FAMNIT students, Eva Krebl.
