Ars Mathematica Contemporanea (AMC)
printIn collaboration with the Society of Mathematicians, Physicists and Astronomers of Slovenia, the Institute of Mathematics, Physics and Mechanics in Ljubljana and since 2018 also with the Slovenian Discrete and Applied Mathematics Society, UP FAMNIT publishes an international mathematical journal Ars Mathematica Contemporanea (AMC).
Science Citation Index for 2015 placed the journal AMC in the top quarter of scientific journals in the field of mathematics according to the journal's impact factor. The journal ranked 60th among the 312 mathematical journals included in ISI (International Science Index), with an impact factor of 0.985. AMC is the first Slovene journal to place in the top quarter of scientific magazines through its impact factor.
AMC was first included on the list of mathematical journals with an impact factor in 2011 (0.4). As its rankings rose (from 2012 IF 0.667 to 2014 IF 0.742), it was included twice in the third quarter and twice in the second quarter. Constant improvement of the journal's influence also demands an increase in the quality of published articles. To ensure a high standard of articles, the editorial board accepts less than a third of submitted manuscripts; with the latest success, their submission rate increased and acceptance rate further decreased.
The journal publishes top scientific articles in modern mathematics, especially in the field of discrete mathematics. Articles in the fields of algebra, geometry, topology, theoretical computer sciences and combinatorics can also be found in the journal.
The online version of the AMC Journal is available through open.source on the journal's website.
The publication of the journal is co-financed by the Slovenian Research Agency (ARRS).
