Mobility programmes and other information

print

At UP FAMNIT, international student mobility is enabled through the ERASMUS + exchange programs, CEEPUS programme, the Slovenian EEA and NFM Scholarship Fund program and individual bilateral agreements. The condition for participation in each of them is the completion of at least the 1st year of undergraduate study and a valid student status.

More information about international exchange possibilities and opportunities abroad for PhD students is also available in the following videos:

To obtain further details about mobility programs, kindly reach out to FAMNIT International Office via email at international@famnit.upr.si.

ERASMUS +

Erasmus+ is one of the most successful EU programme and has been supporting student exchanges for more than 30 years.

The Erasmus + mobility program allows students to complete part of their study obligations abroad. Under the program, exchanges can be attended for the purpose of study or for the purpose of traineeships. Students may only attend exchanges in a country other than the country where their university is based and other than where they have a registered permanent residence.

The study exchange can last a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 12 months at each cycle of study and can take place at partner universities, with which UP FAMNIT has concluded an Erasmus + bilateral agreement.
The traineeship can last from 2 to 12 months at each cycle of study.

There are two available exchange programmes in the frame of Erasmus+:

  • Erasmus+: takes place at faculties, institutions and companies/organizations in the EU Member States, Liechtenstein, Norway, Iceland, Turkey, and Northern Macedonia. Traineeships within the Erasmus + program cannot be performed in the institutions of the European Commission, organizations that manage EU programs and diplomatic missions of the Republic of Slovenia abroad. The traineeship must be substantively related to the student's field of study
  • Erasmus+ ICM: takes place in countries outside EU, and it's only available if the home institution offers an exchange for a specific country

The Erasmus + program is open to students who:

  • attend an established higher education program at undergraduate or postgraduate level at an institution subscribed to the Erasmus University Charter (UP FAMNIT Charter here),
  • have completed at least the 1st year of undergraduate higher education,
  • have graduated (up to a year after the dissertation defence).

The map below shows which universities have an agreement with UP FAMNIT, permitting you to do an Erasmus exchange on their faculty (filter out information for your study programme):

The Erasmus code of the University of Primorska is SI KOPER03.

TRANSFORM4EUROPE (T4EU)top

11 universities from different countries, including University of Pirmorska, joined forces and created a European University Transform4Europe (T4EU). They are situated in the border areas undergoing major transformations with universities being important drivers of that transformation.

Jointly, they bring together over 150,000 students and over 10,000 researchers, who are creating a multilingual, multi-country campus with joint study programme, subjects, research projects, events at all locations and numerous other initiatives.

You can find further information about the upcoming T4EU events and opportunities for student mobility on the UP webpage and T4EU webpage.

Only universities holding an Erasmus charter are eligible to participate in the Erasmus+ programme. You can check University of Primorska's charter below.

CEEPUStop

CEEPUS is a Central European exchange program for students and professors involving higher education institutions from the following countries from the Baltic to the Black sea: Albania, Austria, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Czech Republic, Montenegro, Croatia, Kosovo, Hungary, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Serbia. The aim of the program is to establish and promote the mobility of students and professors between the participating countries and to take advantage of friendly connections and opportunities to design joint study programs.

There are two options for mobility under CEEPUS:

  • NETWORKUniversities and faculties form networks. Within each network, students and staff can attend exchanges. In the case of mobility within the CEEPUS network, of which UP FAMNIT is a part, it is necessary to check the possibilities at the UP FAMNIT International Office. UP FAMNIT is currently involved in the network BA-1403: Managing forests for climate change.
  • FREEMOVERStudents can also participate in exchanges as freemovers, if their faculty is not involved in any network. In the case of a so-called free mover exchange, it is first necessary to obtain permission for mobility at the foreign institution of your choice, followed by an application for a free mover scholarship. The CEEPUS program is coordinated by the national agency CMEPIUS, which also updates exchange opportunities under the CEEPUS free mover program. Please contact the UP FAMNIT International Office for more information on applying to the free mover exchange.

Bilateral scholarshipstop

Foreign Governments announce scholarships for exchanges annually. These scholarships are based on signed agreements between Slovene and foreign governments.
Scholarships usually include a minimum monthly income, free accommodation, and basic medical insurance.

The current offer of Bilateral scholarships by country is available on the CMEPIUS website

Bilateral agreementstop

Mobilities can be defined in bilateral agreements between University of Primorska and foreign universities or UP FAMNIT and other faculties.
Primarily, agreements stipulate cooperation and mutual recognition of activities at the other institution. In the frame of this agreements, financial support is usually not offered.

UP FAMNIT has signed general bilateral agreements with:

Additionally, some University bilateral agreements also apply to UP FAMNIT. You can see the list of University agreements HERE

Mobility outside programmestop

Mobility is also possible outside formal programmes. Arrangements are agreed on an individual basis. In particular, outgoing mobility of students for practical training often takes place outside of programmes.

Application for the exchange (Erasmus+ programme)top

For the exchange within the Erasmus+ programme, registration via the SIS system is required. Applications in the SIS system are open according to the Calls currently available (if there is no open call, applications are not possible).
