Experiences of exchange students at UP FAMNIT

"My exchange in Koper was better than I could have imagined. Living in Slovenia made me learn and evolve a lot as a student, but also as a person.
Before trying this scholarship, I didn't know anything about Slovenia, and today I see this country as an example in many ways, but mainly in education. Upon arriving in Slovenia, we already noticed that the country is a reference in good public education, and the University of Primorska confirmed this to us during the exchange period. The University has done everything it could to make sure that I and all the other students had the best experience possible. I had incredible teachers who have taught me much more than they should, whose teachings I will carry with me for life.
It is not possible for me to put into words how amazing my experience in Slovenia was, but I want you to know that my period there was a dream come true and a huge learning experience!"

"It has been a real pleasure to enjoy my ERASMUS in Koper. In this period of time, I have made strong relationships as well as visited lots of places around Europe, mostly those who make Slovenia a lovely country. People here are very nice and kind, always trying to help, whatever the problem is. Therefore, I would like to thank all the people of UP Famnit (teachers, colleagues, coordinators,...) and recommend all students to enjoy this wonderful place!"

“I spent five months at UP FAMNIT, where I attended four courses: Ecology of terrestrial ecosystems, Marine ecology, Environmental technology, and Advanced topics in conservation biology.
It was a great experience at a good Faculty. Employees and professors were all wonderful. I especially liked Prof. Andreja Kutnar and her subject Environmental technology with our trip to Ribnica. I also liked Izola, Portorož, and Ljubljana very much.
I am very satisfied with my experience and very surprised by the beautiful city and kind people. I wish to all new incoming students to enjoy life in Koper because it is so attractive.”

"During my stay, I enjoyed the most the work with Prof. Istvan Kovacs. I learned a lot by working with him and I also prepared an article. In my view, he is an outstanding mathematician.

"It was a great opportunity for me to continue my studies in one of the strongest research group in the field of Graph Theory. For someone coming from abroad, UP FAMNIT is also a very friendly and hospitable institution. I highly value the student-teacher relationship and the opportunity to do research as well in order to develop my research interests.
To have been awarded a scholarship that allowed me to study in the place I dreamed, make me feel rewarded and satisfied.
It was a unique opportunity in my life which I gained exceptional experience to develop and mature myself as a mathematician. It is worthwhile.
Besides, I think that Koper is a beautiful city which is highly developed to carry out my purposes. It is very interesting and pleasant to visit Slovenia and grow professionally and personally in such a nice place and inter-cultural environment as well."

"This has been a great experience, full of different people, and big surprises. Slovenia itself is a »surprise-country«, because you can visit the snowy mountains and go for a swim in the sea… in the same day!
And Famnit people are great professors with great projects and ideas. I was studying Biology, and if you like nature, Slovenia is definitely your destination: mountains, lakes, caves, rivers; autumn, spring, summer, winter... A place that changes so much, I must admit.
It's hard to define the whole experience in just a few sentences... Simply great."
