MINICOURSE 1: Graph Symmetries
Speaker: Prof. Marston Conder, University of Auckland, New Zealand
Abstract:
This brief course of lectures will cover a number of things about symmetries of graphs, including types of symmetry and associated properties, both global and local, similar issues for graph embeddings, theorems on maximum symmetry, constructions for graphs and maps with a high degree of symmetry subject to various constraints, and so on. These will be accompanied by lots of examples and illustrations. Symmetries of cubic (3-valent) graphs will be a particular focus of attention. I will also mention a number of recent developments and open problems.
