Minicourse Maps - Syllabus

1. Maps, regarded as transitive actions of triangle groups. Monodromy groups and automorphism groups. Regular and orientably regular maps. Isomorphisms and coverings. Operations on maps.

2. Classifying regular and orientably regular maps by their automorphism group, by their underlying surface, and by their embedded graph.

3. Bipartite maps, Riemann surfaces, Belyi's Theorem, and the action of the absolute Galois group on maps.
