Minicourse Group Actions - Syllabus
natisniLecture 1: Transitive group actions, kernel, permutation group induced, action on right cosets and other examples of group actions, vertex-transitive graphs, affine groups and their actions, arc-transitive graphs, coset graphs, edge-transitive graphs, more coset graphs.
Lecture 2: Blocks, primitive groups, intransitive normal subgroups, quotient graphs, quasiprimitive groups, some well-known primitive actions, wreath products in product action, simple diagonal actions and interesting almost simple groups, overview of O'Nan-Scott Theorem.
Lecture 3: The "Normal quotient" philosophy.
Lecture 4: Application of material to locally s-arc transitive graphs.
